Viscose by LENZING™ ECOVERO™

Wood pulp is the main ingredient of Viscose fabric.
.
Viscose is a soft, versatile, and absorbent fabric, which is known for its silk-like texture. It is breathable, just like cotton, It is dyed easily and holds the dye after prolonged use and wash.
.
When subjected to mild heat, the fibre of this fabric does not shrink. It is moisture-wicking. It blends well with most fibres.
.
It is a lightweight and airy fabric that does not stick to the body, and has a lovely drape. When washed in hot water, viscose can shrink, so it needs to be washed in cold water and flat or hang dried.
.
There are two main issues to consider when looking at viscose sustainability: where does the wood pulp come from and how is it processed.
.
LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers are sustainable and certified! biodegradable / compostable Certificates from international certification organization TÜV AUSTRIA Belgium indicate that LENZING™ standard fibers biodegrade within the standards’ time limits in all tested environments (soil, industrial compost, home compost, fresh water, and marine environment).
.
LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers are certified with the EU Ecolabel for textile products (license no. AT/016/001), a label of environmental excellence that is awarded to products and services meeting high environmental standards throughout their life-cycle: form raw material extraction, to production, distribution and disposal.
.
Lenzing demonstrates that wood sourcing complies with its high standards through verification based on FSC® and PEFC certification systems. More than 99% of wood and dissolving wood pulp used by the Lenzing Group is either certified to the standards of Forest Stewardship Council® and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) or inspected in line with these standards.
